Patient guide

How referrals work

Patients cannot self-refer. A family doctor, walk-in clinic or other physician faxes the referral to 416 850 9993, and the clinic then contacts you directly to book.

The short version

You need a doctor to send the referral

Dandelion Allergy Centre is a referral-based clinic, so you cannot book an appointment on your own. Your family doctor, a walk-in clinic or another physician sends the referral by fax to 416 850 9993. Once it arrives, our team contacts you directly to book your visit.

The current wait for a new appointment is shown below.

Current wait: 10 to 16 weeks after we receive the referral Updated October 2026
What the referral should include

Helpful for your doctor to include

  • Patient name, date of birth, OHIP number and contact information
  • Reason for referral and relevant history
  • Current medications, especially antihistamines
  • Any prior allergy testing or investigations

A complete referral helps us book faster.
